Grading is strictly based on the year of birth:
2006 – 13th Grade | 2005 – 14th Grade  |  2004 – 15th Grade  |  2003 – 16th Grade  |  2002 – 17th Grade  |  2001 – 18th Grade  |  2000 – 19th Grade


 

The focus for these grades is on developing their skills as part of a team playing in a safe and friendly environment that provides appropriate levels of competition to aid player development. 13th Grade play 9v9 and 14th - 19th Grade play 11v11 against other clubs throughout Auckland in an Auckland Football Federation (AFF) league.

TEAMS
13th Grade - maximum 12 players.
14th - 19th Grade - squads usually consist of 16 players per team.

Where possible the Grade Coordinator in conjunction with the Football Development Manager (Andy Vernon) will select teams based upon requests – friends, schools, previous teams (early requests are easier to meet). Teams are usually announced during late March and will be emailed out by the Grade Coordinator.

PITCH (Optimal)
13th Grade - Training pitch or 1/2 full pitch with 4m x 2m goals
14th -19th Grade -

LENGTH OF GAME
13th Grade - 2 x 25 minute halves with 5 minutes half time
14th - 19th Grade -

 

FORMAT

13th Grade

  • 9v9 games including Goalkeepers
  • Goal kicks must be taken on the floor by passing out to a team mate
  • Throw-ins, free-kicks and penalties introduced
  • Offsides awarded as per FIFA rules

ORGANISATION
The weekly allocation of fixtures and field locations will be published on the Auckland Football Federation (AFF) website.

Home games are usually played at:

  • Seddon Fields, Meola Road
  • Cox’s Bay Reserve, West End Road
  • Walker Park, Walker Road
  • Eastdale Reserve, corner of Rosebank Road and Eastdale Reserve

Away games are usually played at other club locations throughout Auckland (e.g. usually as far as Drury to the south and Bucklands Beach to the east, with some games ‘over the bridge’ for the Metro and Conference teams).

PARENTS/SUPPORTERS

Should watch games from behind the fence or on the balcony. Provide encouragement to all players but leave specific football comments to the coach.

Those interested in playing an active role supporting the players could:

- Manage a team – working with the coach
- Coach a team for 1-2 training and 1 game per week
- Enrol in a Club Based Referee (CBR) course so they can referee games.
- Run the line as an Assistant Referee.

TEAM KITS

All players should wear 'Springs' shirt, shorts and socks. These can be purchased online through the WSAFC website or instore at Soccer Scene in Point Chevalier. It is recommended that shin pads are worn, and Turf Boots are compulsory on the Turf.

All coaches and managers are required to wear turf boots on the turf.


 

Development Teams

Pre-season all registered 13th - 19th grade players will be invited to attend trials to be part of a WSAFC Development team OR a Division One AFF Team. Players selected into a development squad will be required to train twice per week (one HPU clinic at an extra cost) and will play in one of the following leagues:   

1st XI - Mixed Metro League
2nd XI - Mixed Conference League
Competitions jointly organised by Auckland Football Federation (AFF) and Northern Football Federation (NFF) both at Seddon Fields and away at clubs throughout Auckland (e.g. up north as far as Northland and south to Drury).  All games will take place on Sundays mornings usually between 10am and 3pm. Click here for 2019 trial dates and information

3rd XI - Mixed Youth Division 1 (Does not include HPU Clinics)
Competitions organised by Auckland Football Federation (AFF), both at Seddon Fields and away at clubs throughout Auckland (e.g. east as far as Beachlands Maraetai and south to Drury). Girls Premier
