Women's Football Programme – The Offside Crew
Calling themselves the Offside Crew the hugely popular Women's Football programme runs each term at Seddon Fields!
Kicking off early at 7am - 8am each Tuesday morning, these sessions are led by our Katie Rood (Academy Manager - Girls) or Dara Mulrooney (Academy Coach, Premier Player) and are designed to provide a safe, welcoming and fun environment for women who want to be active, meet new friends and pick up a few handy football skills!
A key part of WSAFC's mission is to provide opportunities and pathways for all to enjoy and succeed in football. These weekly one-hour sessions have proven to be extremely impactful and empowering, with participants not only gaining confidence on the ball, but also forming strong friendships and discovering a deeper connection to the beautiful game.
"I really enjoyed the Women's Football 101 sessions with Katie Rood and the team at Western Springs AFC. They were incredibly fun and engaging. Katie's approach had us diving straight into practical skills, keeping us active and involved the whole time. Her supportive and positive coaching style made the learning process enjoyable and effective.It's fantastic to see opportunities like this being offered for women who are new or returning to football. I haven't come across anything similar before, and it's such a great initiative to make the sport more accessible. These sessions have definitely reignited my enthusiasm for the game, and I'm really looking forward to any future opportunities to participate."
