New Zealand Football and the seven football federations across the country are celebrating girls and women in football 14th - 23rd February 2020. WSAFC are joining in the celebrations with the following events for female footballers, supporters and those keen to find out more about the beautiful game...
Community Referee Course
Tuesday 18th February Part 1 | 6:30pm - 8:30/9pm
Tuesday 25th February Part 2 | 6:30pm - 8:30/9pm
This course is fun and interesting and if you're thinking “I could never do that…” you can! Holding a Community Referee Certificate is a great way to get more involved and a huge asset to the team. At the very least you'll increase your confidence and knowledge on the ins and outs of football fouls, have a laugh and take home your very own set of penalty cards! And it's free for WSAFC members/parents! (females only of course).

Girls and Womens Fun Day at Springs
Saturday 22nd February | 10am - 12pm
Get your girl friends together and come on down to the club for a fun filled morning of football with some great spot prizes to be won! This fun day is for all females in the community who are keen to have some fun on the turf with different skills stations run by some of our premier women players and rising stars. Come on down and enjoy the fun and spread the word!
Coach Education Day
Junior Level One Coaching | Fit4Football
Sunday 23rd February | 9:45am - 2:30pm
Led by Hannah Kraakman, the day will kick off with the Junior Level One Coaching course. Through an interactive and practical approach the course will help develop your knowledge and understanding of how to encourage junior players aged 4-12 years to fall in love with the game while maximising skill acquisition at this important age. A comprehensive resource for coaches will be yours to take away and use with your players.
The second part of the day will focus on Fit4Football 11+ Kids. AFF's Player Welfare Officer - Jenny Storey will take you through the importance of the Fit4Football 11+Kids warm up programme and how to safely move through the activities and levels with your team.
Maximum of 25 spaces available. Registrations are through MyComet using your own username or create one if you have not used MyComet before. Then go to the dropdown menu and select Auckland Football and then complete registration.
Youth Girls Education Workshop
The Female Athlete, Player Loading and Nutrition
Monday 24th February | 6:00pm - 6:45pm
A footballer could have the best skills in the world, however without the correct nutritional support the player may not be able to sustain a hard training programme over a long period of time and improvement will therefore be limited. Good nutritional practices are also necessary to ensure optimum performance in competition.
Join us for an informative presentation on Player Loading and Nutrition with AFF's Player Welfare Officer Jenny Storey (practicing physio and Womens Black Sticks 2012-2017). We encourage all our female youth players attend this invaluable event.
