Western Springs AFC is seeking to appoint a Head of Women’s Football

The Head of Women’s Football will lead the development of all women’s and girl’s football at WSAFC. Working with the men’s and youth equivalents and club representatives the Head of Women’s Football will develop and implement a Springs approach to football focussed on the women’s and girl’s game, aligning philosophy, coach and player development to make our Women’s and girl’s programme a leading programme in New Zealand.

Working across the club, the Head of Women’s Football will provide strategic leadership to develop and implement a club wide player and coach development strategy designed to provide a conveyor belt of players into our premier teams, with a focus on developing our talent into the premier women’s squad.

In leading our women’s and girl’s programme, the Head of Women’s Football will be the Head Coach of the WSAFC premier team and have the full oversight and responsibility of all women’s and girl’s programmes, with the challenge of making improvements in all areas of player, coach and game development.

You will already have a passion for, and detailed knowledge of, the dynamics of women’s club football. You will most likely have worked in and around women’s sport and are looking for the chance to help lead change in the women’s football space.

It is imperative that applicants must have at a bare minimum an OFC C Licence qualification and have at least three years prior experience in similar roles.

Applicants must be able to pass a NZ Police Vetting process for working with children.

Committed to working non-traditional hours and weekends.

The tasks and skills outlined above provide a guideline to the requirements of the role. However, as in the case with sport, the position may require some flexibility in regard to the type of work required and the number of hours worked each week. Weekends and evening work will be required for the role.

The position will report directly to a delegate of the Executive Committee.
