It's 3 games unbeaten now for our Womens Premier team after digging out a win at Glenfield Rovers on Sunday. Especially pleasing given we suffered a heavy defeat there last year.
The team is only 3 points off 3rd and play 3rd placed Auckland United this weekend. A team we have already beaten in round 1.
Here is Head Coach Alex with a few words as we go into the 2nd half of the season
A great win on Sunday, how did the game go?
Yes despite the fact that we didn't play as we'd planned, it was a lucky win. no doubt our players gave it 100% but it was just one of those games.
We are now into the 2nd half of the season and Auckland United up next. It was a great win in round 1 and it must be a huge incentive to get back on level points as them?
Absolutely, Auckland United is on fire and we are ready for the challenge.
We are clearly becoming a team that is hard to break down, is that impacting on our attack though?
No, our team defends very strongly with a good structure. Unfortunately, the scoring does not mirror the opportunities we've created for ourselves
Are you enjoying yourself?
What is the number one thing you have learned this year?
Yes, I enjoy being part of a great club and coaching a fantastic group of players. The number one thing I have learned so far is the reinforcement of commitment and responsibilities from myself and the players
