Two wins on the bounce has set up our Mens Premier team nicely at a critical part of the season.
As always, Mens Head Coach Chris Zoricich took some time out from his busy schedule to give us some of his thoughts.
- The next challenge of Forrest Hill Milford and a familiar face
- Injury update from the squad
- Background into his coaching set up and supporting the player pathways at Springs
Another 3 points but a different type of game than last week. How much do you take
out of the game or is it a case of job done and move on?
Happy with the 3 pts especially away from home. Not as happy with the performance but
as you say job done. We slipped up at Fred Taylor last season and when we failed to convert our
6 chances in the first half due to some good goalkeeping and some wayward finishing I thought
the same may happen again! Luckily the boys dug in and finally put the game to bed later in the
Next up is Forrest Hill Milford, the only team above us to win on the weekend. The
balcony will know player coach Adam Dickinson well, of course, but how much do you get to
watch the opponents before you play them?
I went and watched their game v Suburbs Friday night plus we get footage of the game
through Hudl exchange. We all know Dicko well and are looking forward to welcoming him and
his team to Seddon. We are expecting a tough encounter again and need to focus on our game
plan and look to keep the momentum going.
Can you give us an injury update? who's out, who's coming back, etc?
Connor Probert has just had a hernia operation on Thursday which will see him out of
action for a few weeks at least.
Isaac Tetteh is training well and looking close to being back to full fitness.
Oscar Browne, unfortunately, had another set back a couple of weeks ago and is hopefully looking
to recommence training again soon.
Both Seb Stephan and Roddy Lockhart have been getting valuable game time in the
development squad to get them up to speed after battling through mid to long term injuries. Both
are still a little if the pace at the moment but getting better.
The final one is on your coaching team. How are they getting on this season and were
there any areas you wanted an improvement on from last year
I’m lucky to have good staff supporting me and it’s vital that they are on board with our
vision just as much if not more than the players. So far that has been the case and I’m hearing
the right messages from them to the players which is crucial so there are no mixed messages.
I also see this starting to filter down through our youth teams of which our first team players and
coaches are involved with.
