Western Springs AFC has a long history tracing its roots all the way back to 1923. The current club was formed through the amalgamation of Grey Lynn Celtic and Pt Chevalier AFC in 1989.

Our current logo was designed as part of a club wide competition when the two clubs amalgamated.  The winning design was submitted by a youth grade player, representing the swans of our locality at Western Springs and two footballs to represent the heritage of the two clubs combining together as one.
