Youth Girls Only 13 - 19 Years

Depending on ability and time a player can commit to playing football, female players aged 13-19 (Grades 13-19) can choose to play in either girls only teams or mixed (90% boys) teams following either the Social or Academy pathway, with the option to change teams / pathways each season.

Social

Our social pathway provides the opportunity for players to play in teams largely based on player preferences (e.g. play with specific friends, in a previous team, etc) and with a commitment to one training per week plus a game. 13th Grade players may also choose to register and attend Skill Centre training as a second weekly training.

For female players following the Social pathway once they are too old for U19 grade, it is anticipated that they would either move into one of our existing Senior Women’s Teams or form their own new Senior Women’s Team.

Academy

The Academy pathway provides players with potential the opportunity to train with the best coaches and train and play against the best players in their age group from across the region. Players following this pathway must be able to commit to 2-3 (depends upon team) training sessions a week plus a game.  Academy players are identified during term 4 from players attending the Term 4 Academy identification sessions and those attending the Term 4 Championship/Conference player sessions. The group of Academy players is then finalised at the end of term 4.  Youth Girls academy teams play in the Lotto NRFL Youth League.

Any players who are not in the Academy teams but would like to follow the pathway should attend the Mixed Player ID sessions (mixed teams) or Girls Player ID (girls only teams) in February to be considered for a Development Team. Players in Development teams will also be committed and competitive minded players, and they will also train 2x per week.  Development teams will play in an NRF youth league.

For female players following the Academy pathway once they are too old for U16 grade, it is anticipated that they would move into the Premier Women’s or Development squads.
