Springs Academy duo earn U16 Mens International Call Ups
WSAFC would like to congratulate Luke Carter and Iseraelia Ngaro-Tau on their respective age group international call ups for the upcoming OFC U16 Mens Championship, taking place in Honiara, Solomon Islands starting from 17 August.
Luke has been called up by New Zealand and Iseraelia has been called up by the Cook Islands.
Luke has been part of our Mixed Academy for the last 4 seasons, currently in our U17 NRFL Mixed Academy side, led by Brock Radich, and has also featured in the Lotto NRFL U23 Men's Premier Team. Meanwhile Iseraelia plays in our U14 NRFL Mixed Academy team led by Coach Andy Vernon, after joining the club earlier this season.
Scott Hales, WSAFC Director of Football, is delighted to see these two players selected to play for their country.
"Both players have done excpetionally well to be recognised and called up by their nation to compete at this international level. Luke and Iseraelia have both worked hard to get to this level through the WSAFC Academy Pathway, ID Sessions with Auckland FC as part of our Youth Development Pathway agreement, and through consistant effort and performance with their Academy coaches throughout the season. We have no doubt there will be more to come for them both."
New Zealand are placed in Group B, playing against New Caledonia, Samoa and hosts Solomon Islands, with Cook Islands in Group A alongside Tahiti, Papua New Guinea and Tahiti.
Luke and Iseraelia join a growing list of international representatives to have played for the club over the years we are are all very proud of their achievements. Congratulations and good luck!
