Springs teams open National League with wins

Congratulations to both WSAFC Premier teams with wins to open the 2025 Dettol National League at Seddon Fields.

The Premier Men opened scored a 3-0 win over Western Suburbs thanks to goals from Reid Drake, Caspar McGavin and Jordan Hackett.

The Premier Women accounted for Wellington United 5-4 thanks to two goals from Liz Savage and also Maddison Ollington plus an own goal. United had been undefeated in League football for 18 consecutive games. 

A good crowd came along to support in what was a busy weekend of football around the country.

Both teams are away in round two - the men at Wellington Olympic, midday Saturday 4 September, the women's team to Christchurch United Pride midday Sunday 5 September.
