Western Springs AFC supports Option 1: Auckland Arena, the proposed dedicated football facility that will deliver huge benefits for both the community and the professional game in Auckland.

As one of the country’s largest football clubs, with over 3,000 players across all ages, genders and abilities, we are operating at capacity.

Demand is growing rapidly, particularly among juniors and women and girls, and the need for more quality playing spaces, especially artificial turf fields, is urgent. 

Option 1 directly supports grassroots football by increasing our access to fields, creating a new hub for community sport, and providing a clear development pathway through a new Centre of Excellence.

The WSAFC Executive Board met with Auckland FC and the Arena team and believe strongly in their commitment to ensuring this facility serves the wider football community.

This is a rare opportunity, supported by private investment, to build a lasting football legacy for Tāmaki Makaurau.
