WSAFC Academy Ready for Term 2
The 2025 football season is off to a strong start at Western Springs AFC, with both the Girls and Mixed Academies enjoying a successful first term of training and games. With a full term now completed, coaches and players alike are beginning to see real momentum building across all age groups.
Girls Academy Manager, Katie Rood, shared her enthusiasm for the progress made so far:
“It’s been great to get a full term of training in and see the teams starting to gel with each other and their coaches. We’re buzzing now for the players to start playing games each weekend and watch them put into action what they’ve been learning!”
As Term 1 wraps up, attention now turns to Term 2 – where the action really begins. With regular fixtures kicking off and teams getting into the thick of the season, players will have more opportunities to challenge themselves, compete, and apply what they’ve been developing in training. The coming weeks are set to bring exciting matchdays and continued growth on and off the field.
Mixed Academy Manager, Danyon Drake, also highlighted the excitement and promise within the program:
"With the 2025 football year well underway we are looking forward to seeing how our teams and individuals progress and develop across all of our age groups within the Mixed Academy. We are fortunate to have some great coaches working with our players and I'm sure this will help the players with their development and continued enjoyment during the year."
Western Springs AFC remains committed to fostering both skill development and a love for the game, and the second term promises plenty of action, learning, and memorable moments for all involved.
