WSAFC co-host successful Women's and Girls event
Western Springs AFC teamed up with Northern Region Football on Sunday, 23 March, to host a successful Women and Girls Event here at Seddon Fields.
Along with signing the NRF Equity Charter, WSAFC has continued to prioritize supporting Women and Girls Football, with this latest event being one of the most exciting and innovative initiatives undertaken by the club. Read more here.
Sunday’s event saw a number of esteemed guests from the local football community take part in a conversation aimed at inspiring a future generation of referees, coaches, officials, administrators, and players, with six panelists providing unique insights into their areas of expertise.
Head of Women’s Football, Maia Vink, was enthusiastic about the event and the response from attendees.
“It was fantastic to be part of such a fun afternoon of conversation, storytelling, and an excellent example of women supporting other women to positively impact our club’s community.
A huge thank you to Shannan Chapman from NRF, Laura Curtis, Courtney Day, Santha Brown, Julie Dunn, and Katie Rood for being part of this day and sharing their rich experiences and vision for the future of football. See you at the next one!”
WSAFC will continue to prioritize providing these experiences and will communicate these to our club membership once they are confirmed throughout the season.
