WSAFC Update on Head of Women’s Football

4 Apr

Western Springs AFC can confirm that Maia Vink will conclude her tenure as Head of Women’s Football and Head Coach of the Women’s Premier team in May, leaving the club for personal reasons and to be closer to her family.

Maia has been an integral part of the club’s success, including leading the team to victory in the 2023 Kate Sheppard Cup final, as well as establishing a number of key initiatives that support the ongoing commitment to Women and Girls Football.

We want to sincerely thank Maia for her leadership, dedication, and contributions to the team and to the wider club. Under her guidance, the team has made significant strides, and her impact on player development and the club’s culture will be long-lasting.

We wish Maia all the best in her future endeavours.

With Maia’s departure, we will soon begin the recruitment process for a new Head Coach to lead the Women’s Premier team into the next chapter.

We are committed to finding a coach who aligns with the club's values and ambitions as we continue to build on our success in the NRFL Women’s Premiership.

Further details on the recruitment process will be shared shortly.
