Zac Zoricich signs with Central Coast Mariners
We are extremely proud to announce that Men’s Premier Player, 19 year old Zac Zoricich has signed a Youth Development Agreement for 2022 with Australian A-League Club Central Coast Mariners!!
Left Back/Right Back Zac began playing football at Three Kings United before moving to Western Springs at the age of 13 where he made his way through the youth grades before breaking into the First Team environment in 2019, aged 16. Zac played in the National League with Waitakere United during the 2020/21 season and was also selected for the NZ U20 National Training Camps but due to COVID, was only able to attend one camp and missed out on going to an U20 FIFA World Cup, due to it being cancelled because of COVID.
He had signed for Auckland City FC for the 2022 season but also had the opportunity to trial in Australia where after a short trial period, he was offered a Youth Development Agreement for the 2022 season by Central Coast Mariners. This means that Zac will play for the Central Coast U23 team in the New South Wales NPL 2 League. The next step for Zac is to work towards securing a Scholarship contract where he would train with the Central Coast Mariners A-League Squad before gaining a First Team contract where he would play for the Central Coast Mariners First Team in the professional Australian A-League.
We are very proud of Zac who has worked extremely hard to get this opportunity and is under no illusions that this is just a foot in the door with the hard work he’s put in over his development years hopefully starting to pay off now.
His life as a footballer has started and we hope he can continue to progress and achieve his dream of becoming a full professional in the near future.
Fun Fact: Zac was born in Gosford on the Central Coast! (Just up the road from Mariners Stadium)
