New WSAFC Chatterbox bench installation complete!
We’re proud to announce the installation of a Chatterbox bench at Western Springs AFC is now complete!
This is our new dedicated space designed to encourage connection, conversation, and community.
Overlooking our FIFA Legacy Field, this simple but powerful addition to our club environment is a visible reminder of the importance of mental health and well being in sport. Western Springs AFC care deeply about people, relationships, and looking after one another both on and off the pitch, forming an integral part of our WSAFC Club Strategy.
The Chatterbox bench initiative links back to the mental health awareness event we hosted during last year’s National League campaign with our Charity Day, where we opened conversations about the pressures players, coaches, and supporters can face. This bench is the next step in continuing that kōrero.

We’d like to sincerely thank those who helped fund this initiative, including Auckland Council, Waitamatā Local Board and the Chatterbox charity, founded by Emily Turnbull.
Your generosity has brought this idea to life and will have a lasting impact on the Springs community for many years to come. We know many important conversations will take place on this bench. Sometimes all it takes is a chat to change someone’s day.
We encourage everyone to take a seat, connect with someone, or just enjoy a quiet moment overlooking our home here at Seddon Fields!
