Registrations open for Junior/Youth Coaching Courses
Head of Men's Football, Scotty Hales, will be running these upcoming free Junior/Youth coaching courses at Seddon Fields:
Junior Level 1:
This course is perfect for people who are looking to improve their coaching and to develop their knowledge and understanding of how to work effectively with junior players aged 4-12 years. Looking at both the ‘How’ and ‘What’ of coaching junior footballers through an interactive and practical approach, as well as providing a comprehensive resource for coaches to take away and use with their players.
Content covered:
- What is an effective coaching session?
- The qualities of a football coach working with junior players
- Meeting junior footballers needs
Duration: 3 hours (coaches only need to attend one of the two days below)

Junior Level 2:
This coaching award provides coaches with an opportunity to further develop knowledge and understanding of both practical and theoretical aspects of coaching junior players in the Discovery (4-8 years) and Skill Acquisition (9-12 years) Phases.

- Physical development
- Designing games for learning
- Dealing with difference
- Activity delivery
Duration: 3 hours (coaches only need to attend one of the two days below)
Pre-requisite: NZF Junior Level 1 Coaching Award

Sunday 2nd July 3.00-6.00pm
Youth Level 1:
This course is ideal for coaches who want to work with groups of youth players aged 13-19 years and provides a fantastic insight into how to coach football at this important age. Full of modern coaching sessions that emphasise developing players in a fun environment, it is a great introduction for anyone with an interest in the youth game.

- Dealing with difference
- How to progress / regress activities
