Colin Gallagher RIP
Sadly, on the 1st of August we learnt of the passing of Life Member Colin Gallagher.
Colin was a huge influence on the club, from his time at our predecessors dating back to 1951 and his playing for the Comrades, which became the Grey Lynn AFC , which joined with Pt Chevalier AFC to form Western Springs AFC in 1989.
He contributed heavily off the field as Junior Committee member, Senior Committee member then Treasurer for the WSAFC.
His wife Lynn was also on the Junior committee for Grey Lynn AFC, and Colin’s Brother Gary is also a Life Member.
Colin’s sons Troy and Nathan also played for the club throughout the grades and Nathan still laces the boots up for Over 45’s Team, Geris.
Although diminutive Colin was a giant contributor to the club, and he will be missed.
