Western Springs AFC is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Hales to the position of Head of Men’s Football.

Scott holds an OFC / NZF A Licence and UEFA B Licence and has significant experience in all facets of the game, having lead development programmes at junior and youth levels through to elite. As a coach, with Team Wellington, he won three National League titles (former ISPS Handa Men's Premiership) between 2016 and 2021.

In 2018, Team Wellington won the OFC Champions League and qualified to play in the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup later that year. Scott was made Team Wellington Head Coach from 2019 to 2021 and more recently took Miramar Rangers to the new National League and Chatham Cup final.

Western Springs AFC Executive Chair, Grant Ramsay, says “this is a very important appointment for the club and I'm delighted to have someone with Scott’s experience and track record leading the men’s football program.”

Scott has agreed a three year commitment and starts at the Club this month with an initial focus on the men’s Premier team pre-season.

Welcome to Springs, Scott.
