PLAYER IDENTIFICATION

Player ID Sessions are for those players in 8th - 19th grade who have aspirations to play in a development team and/or be placed in a team alongside players of the same age and skill level. All players are welcome to attend, have some fun and play a range of games, often small-sided, that allows them to demonstrate their skills. Sessions will be running from 8th Feb - 27th March. For more information specific to your grade and to confirm your attendance please click herePlayers whose priority is to play with friends (or stay in the same teams as in 2021) should not attend these Player ID sessions but instead will be placed in teams by their grade coordinator. Grade Coordinators will finalise these teams once players are registered and any playing preferences have been received. Click here for the list of Grade Coordinators:

SKILLS CENTRE

Western Springs host our own Skill Centre providing kids from 5 to 12 years with opportunities to develop key technical skills and decision making in a series of sessions throughout each term. The focus is on having fun and learning in a safe environment alongside other players of a similar age. The Springs Skill Centre runs throughout 4 terms of the school year with the 2022 programme starting from Monday 21st February. Leading coaches include our Head of Junior & Youth Football (Andy Vernon) and other club male and female coaches who are educated up to the NZF Advanced Junior Level 3. Click here for more info and bookings.

VACCINE PASS INFORMATION

Please note the current guidance from New Zealand Football (NZF) and Northern Region Football (NRF) to clubs is that players who are 12 years, 3 months+, coaches, managers, officials and volunteers will require vaccination certificates (or a medical exemption) to participate in football this year. The club will need to adhere to this guidance, therefore, only players who have shared their My Vaccine Pass with the club through the Friendly Manager system, can take part in the 2022 season. As Friendly Manager is integrated with the national database, COMET, there is no requirement for you to do anything further once this has been completed. We would encourage all members to register and upload their My Vaccine Pass as soon as possible. The process for uploading vaccine passports onto Friendly Manager should take 2-3 minutes. The vaccine passport is not held in Friendly Manager but specific details (the person’s name, date of birth, valid from date and expiry date) are recorded so a club administrator can verify it belongs to the person.

  1. Login to Friendly Manager by clicking here
  2. Click on the relevant player in the family
  3. Click on the Vaccine Pass header
  4. Follow instructions to upload
  5. The Vaccine Pass symbol will turn from red to yellow, and then once verified by a club administrator change to green. You will only be contacted by a club administrator if the details uploaded do not match the correct person on Friendly Manager.

For any questions about My Vaccine Pass uploads please contact:Operations Manager: Kelly Bolus - operations@wsafc.org.nz

DONATIONS

This season, members have the option to assist our Player Support Fund. The fund enables members in our local community to play football, who may not have otherwise played due to the financial commitment required. In 2021, our Player Support fund was able to assist 44 junior and youth members at Springs. Please consider making a donation if you are in a position to do so.
